Good news! UIBE's Insurance Program has obtained international accreditation GCIE

At the "2023 Global Insurance Forum" held in Singapore on November 6-7, our university's Insurance program officially received accreditation from the International Insurance Society (IIS) as a "Global Center of Insurance Excellence (GCIE)." This achievement makes us the third university in China to receive this honor, following Peking University and Tsinghua University.

GCIE is an international accreditation program initiated by the International Insurance Society in 2017 for global higher education institutions offering risk management and insurance programs. Its goal is to comprehensively evaluate and accredit the development of these programs worldwide. Currently, over 30 universities worldwide have received this accreditation. The GCIE accreditation signifies that our Insurance program has gained the highest level of recognition in the international insurance community, particularly in terms of curriculum, talent development, and faculty construction. It is a significant accomplishment in our university's efforts to establish a world-class insurance discipline.

Professor Xie Yuantao, the Dean of our Insurance School, was invited to attend the forum and officially received the accreditation results on-site. During the conference, Dean Xie engaged in extensive discussions with guests, including the President and Chairman of the International Insurance Society, on topics such as insurance talent development, insurance technology, big data analysis, and insurance. This further strengthens the connection and exchange between UIBE’s Insurance program and the international insurance community.

This forum marked the first in-person event in the past four years and attracted nearly 200 guests from renowned insurance companies, research institutions, and higher education institutions worldwide.
