Chapter 1 Principles of Course Selection
Article 1 Students select courses according to their major training programs and course information of the course selection system.
Article 2 Students shall take courses according to the semesters specified in the teaching plan in the training program, and may take courses across semesters if conditions permit. Students should allocate their study time according to their actual learning situation and ability to avoid overburdening or underburdening.
Article 3 The selection of courses should first ensure the compulsory courses. The required courses mainly include the compulsory courses of political theory and ideological character, mental health and self-growth, freshman seminar, college English listening course and other courses marked as compulsory in the general education and general courses, as well as the introductory courses, the compulsory courses of discipline foundation and the compulsory courses of professional direction required in the professional training program of each grade.
Article 4 For courses with prerequisite requirements, the prerequisite courses must be taken first.
Article 5 Students are not allowed to take and be assessed in courses that they have not taken.
Article 6 Students can apply for exemption procedures according to their academic ability within the specified time, and with the consent of the instructor and the approval of the student's college and the Office of Academic Affairs, they can be exempted from the relevant courses in accordance with the relevant regulations. Exemptions must be made first.
Article 7 Students are not allowed to withdraw from the courses they have chosen beyond the specified withdrawal time. Those who discontinue the course without permission will be given zero points for the course assessment.
Chapter 2 Course Selection Requirements
Article 8 Before choosing courses, students should carefully read the relevant teaching plans in the training programs of their respective grades, check the class time and restrictions of the relevant courses in the course selection system, and make their own list of courses to be chosen.
Article 9 Distinguish different courses by course code. Students should take the courses with the course codes in the professional training program of the grade they belong to as the major courses; the courses with the course codes in the minor and double-degree training program as the minor courses; the rest of the courses are unplanned courses, and the unplanned courses are not counted as major or minor credits.
Article 10 Distinguish classes offered by different teachers or at different times for the same course by the course number. It is not allowed to take courses with different course numbers for the same course code.
Article 11 It is not allowed to take two courses at the same time or repeatedly with different course codes, the same or similar course names, and different but not essentially different teaching contents.
Article 12 Except for the graduation year, students shall not take less than 12 credits per semester for two consecutive semesters; the elective credits for minor language majors shall not be higher than 30 credits per semester, and the elective credits for other majors shall not be higher than 26 credits per semester; students who take minor studies shall not take more than 32 credits at most per semester.
Article 13 Students should follow the instructions of course selection restrictions indicated in the course selection system. Chinese students are not allowed to take courses that are only for international students; international students can take courses that are for Chinese students.
Article 14 In the first two years, students must complete or basically complete the introductory courses that belong to or are required by the major they intend to choose or change, otherwise they cannot enter the professional courses.
Chapter 3 Course Selection Procedure
Article 15 Course selection is divided into four stages: pre-selection, lottery, positive selection and make-up and withdrawal selection:
(a) Pre-selection stage: This stage is the registration process of course selection, each student can pre-select courses according to his or her own will according to the teaching plan of the professional training program of the year to which he or she belongs, and there is no time sequence or numerical limit for pre-selection. Students who do not participate in the pre-selection are not eligible for the lottery.
(b) Lottery stage: The lottery will be conducted for courses with more pre-selected applicants than the class capacity, and the priority of the lottery will be determined according to the Priority Setting Plan for Course Selection. Those who have not drawn lots at the end of this stage are considered to have abandoned the courses to be drawn. After the lottery is over, you can check the remaining course capacity and make a plan for positive selection, and you can make inquiries, withdraw from the course and wait for the operation, but you cannot make the operation of course selection and lottery.
(c) The regular selection stage: Students who have not won the course can choose other courses or classes that still have spare capacity at this stage, or they can choose to wait for a course in the blank space of the class schedule. Course selection adopts the practice of "next day release", the balance generated after the withdrawal of the day will not be released, and only the course with the balance of the day can be selected.
(d) Make up and withdraw stage: at the beginning of the next semester, this stage allows you to withdraw from the selected courses and make up for the courses with class capacity. This stage does not use the waiting function, and the courses are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
Article 16 After the end of the regular selection stage, the courses which the number of students has not reached the requirement of opening will be suspended and announced according to the selection result. If the courses are suspended at this stage, you can change (make up) for other courses in the make-up or withdrawal stage.
Article 17 After the end of the make-up and withdrawal period, the courses which the number of electors does not meet the requirements will be suspended and announced according to the course selection results. If the courses are suspended at this stage, you cannot change (make up) for other courses in the semester, but can take them in the subsequent semester.
