Notice of the ESG Sustainable Development and Green Insurance Seminar

General secretary Xi Jinping have repeatedly emphasized the development concept of green waters and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains.The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to promote green development and promote harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Green development has become a major development strategy for China at present and in the future.

In June 2022, the former China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission issued the Guidelines for green finance in Banking and Insurance Industry, which clearly deployed the development of green finance in banking and insurance industry, actively served various economic activities with environmental and social benefits, better assisted in pollution prevention and control, and orderly promoted carbon peak and carbon neutrality work.

In order to further promote China's green development strategy and sustainable development goals, better practice the ESG concept, and promote the continuous improvement of China's green insurance system, the School of Insurance of the University of International Business and Economics plans to hold the ESG Sustainable Development and Green Insurance Seminar on June 17, 2023, to build a high-level platform for exchanges between all parties.

The meeting was jointly organized by the School of Insurance of the University of International Business and Economics, the British Association of Actuaries and KPMG Enterprise Consulting (China) Co., Ltd.
